About Artisan: Goodness Nnabeze (b. 2002, Anambra State, Nigeria) is a visual artist with a First-Class Honours degree in Fine and Applied Arts, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she specialised in Painting. Her current artistic journey is driven by an unwavering fascination with the fundamental role of line, innate and individual socio-cultural consciousness in artistic expression.

Goodness Nnabeze’s pieces explore the dynamic interplay of organic lines, colour, and form, delving into the simple, yet deep realities of the human experience as a conscious race and the interconnectedness of nature in entirety. Her artistic expression features loose and airy line figures that seem to dissolve effortlessly into their environment, voicing the non-static, but transient nature of the human essence. "As humans, we have fleeting bodies with non-fleeting souls, we are walking gallons" she believes. Mission Statement: My recent artistic journey is rooted in a fascination with the expressive power of the element of art - line. A vehicle I like to describe as one that expresses connectivity and continuity in the midst of change.

Through the interplay of organic movement, colour, and form, I explore the transient nature of the human experience and our deep interconnectedness with Creation of which a great part, we humans make up. I employ objects of cultural symbolism like the wrapper and gallon - to serve as a conduit for the themes I express. The journey towards self-realisation brought me to this point - a marriage between ‘wrappers’ and ‘gallons’ under the gaze of the symbolic sun as a witness.

Through my pieces, I strive to invite the viewer on a journey of personal growth, encouraging them to delve into self realisation and embrace the gift of consciousness. Ultimately, I aim to capture the essence of African art hermeneutics, offering a nuanced perspective on what it means to be human - a prodigy of influence, in possession of fleeting bodies with non-fleeting souls. Hence, the story behind the gyrating lines.
