Beauty for Ashes
$5,000.00
Beauty For Ashes presents a striking profile silhouette assembled from fractured, organic fragments reminiscent of burnt charcoal or raw mineral stone. Set against a weathered, cool-toned textured ground, the shadowed silhouette is punctuated with rhythmic tesserae of fiery red, gold, and warm amber. The title evokes a journey of rebirth—turning destruction into regal elegance. The sculptural dimensionality of the mosaic-like surface invites viewers into an intimate dialogue on personal history, healing, and enduring grace, offering substantial depth and visual prestige to any curated space.

Uchay Joel Chima
Artist Statement
My practice explores memory, resilience, and the human condition through the transformation of found and discarded materials. By assembling fragments of charcoal, sacks, sand, wax, and other raw elements into evocative human forms, I reflect on adversity, social inequality, and environmental realities. Through this process of reconstruction, I seek to reveal dignity, strength, and beauty in what is overlooked, while affirming our shared humanity and interconnectedness.
